V.I.P. Fishing Tournament

Seeing Lions Service Through the Eyes of a VIP

Sometimes the best way to understand why Lions serve is to see the expression on someone’s face when that service makes a difference.  The message to fellow Lions is simple: this is one of those events where you get to witness the impact of Lions service firsthand.

Lions that have the opportunity to participate at the annual VIP Fishing Tournament are able to experience how special and encouraging it is to see the expressions on the faces of VIPs participating in the event. It is an experience that brings the Lions mission to life in a way that is difficult to capture in words.

An Opportunity to Serve

The tournament depends on people willing to give their time. The official tournament website says donations of time help continue the event for visually impaired people from North Carolina and beyond. Your donation of time is a gift to VIP Participants and you’ll find that you possibly receive more reward from your volunteer experience than the participants!

The tournament’s volunteer application lists many ways to help, from greeting and serving meals to preparing fishing equipment, assisting with pier registration, scoring and other event needs. Visit the tournament website to learn more and find registration information.

If you have ever wondered what Lions service looks like beyond your Club and information the District provides, this is a wonderful opportunity to find out. Our District 31-N Lions members who have been there can tell you about it. But seeing those smiles and experiencing that sense of community for yourself may tell the story even better.

We invite our fellow Lions, friends and neighbors to learn more about the VIP Fishing Tournament. If the experience speaks to you and you are able to help, consider signing up to volunteer in the very near future.  You won’t regret it!
