Serving Our Communities…Four Paws at a Time!

Clubs in NC Lions District 31-N has embarked (no pun intended) on a unique service project throughout the District. Clubs are being asked to work with their communities to acquire Pet Food and Pet Supplies (collars, toys, chews, etc.) and provide them to their local animal shelters. Many communities have dwindling funds to adequately provide food to animals that have been collected or dropped off. Without needed food assistance for cats or dogs, many animals will have to be euthanized. LET’S PREVENT THIS FROM HAPPENING!

Clubs should get with local grocery stores, pet stores, feed and grain facilities, as well as placing collection boxes in conspicuous locations in each of your communities to request donations of pet food supplies from interested shoppers. To date, almost 2000 lbs of food have been collected by at least 10 clubs in the District. We are asking ALL 51 District 31-N Clubs participate in this ongoing project that will end June 15th, 2027. Clubs are asked to contact Jerry Williams each month and report the number of pounds of food your club has collected.
